Since 1934, when colourful frocks and frills were a hit, the first Hub store, The Hub ‘Nu-way Cash Stores’ opened their doors in April in West Street, Durban. Even back then, our fashion caused a frenzy in town, everyone knew that Henderson’s Universal Bazaar (now known as the Hub) had it all!

From then all the way through to 1989, when we got hip to be square, our shops have been popping up all over the place, Phoenix, Newcastle, Empangeni and Chatsworth… At the turn of the century, we celebrated the new millennium by reopening our Port Shepstone store that was tragically destroyed in a fire the year before. In 2001 we opened the flagship Hub store at Gateway Theatre of Shopping and in 2005 the famous Hub store at the Pavilion Shopping Centre. Many more stores followed over the years and we now boast 19 stores across South Africa, and we’re still growing. Our latest development is the Hub store in Amanzimtoti, opening in November.
